I don’t know about you, but I have a slight obsession with iced coffee. I will even drink it during the winter months, I don’t care. Naturally when I visit places, I’m always scoping out the best coffee shops and I try to stick to local ones if I can. Throughout my many trips to NYC, I’ve tasted and tried so many different coffee shops and in my personal opinion, these are the top 10 coffee shops in NYC. Again, purely my opinion and would love your thoughts, but let’s get into them!

1. Maman
Address: 22 W 25th ST (several other locations too)Β
One of my all time favorite coffee shops is Maman. Hands down one of the best. I go there every. single. time. I’m in NYC. I’ve tried so many different coffees, but my favorites have to be:
- Whatever their seasonal drink is
- Lavender hot chocolate
- Iced Matcha Latte w/Almond Milk
- Iced honey lavender latte w/almond milk
Also, you HAVE to get their chocolate chip cookie — it was featured on Oprah’s favorite things and I can confirm, it’s great. Also any of their food + pastries are great. You really can’t go wrong with any selection you make at Maman.

2. Ralph’s
Address: 888 Madison Avenue
Listen… this past January, I stayed in NYC for about a month while I was doing some remote work. I was staying in Gramercy Park and I would take the subway all the way up to Madison Avenue to get the coffee from Ralph’s. For some reason, they make the BEST lattes. I can’t explain it. Just go and try it and tell me what you think.
Also, Central Park is roughly two blocks from this particular location, so I recommend grabbing coffee + a snack and hopping over there to enjoy it!

3. The Lost Draft
Address: 398 Broome Street
If you are a movie buff at all, this is YOUR coffee shop. I just found this place this past January and I am obsessed. It has an entire “movie” them to it with the actor chairs, scripts, etc. It even has a a cute little Post Office thing where you can submit your work to be read and potentially selected for production. Super cool. I loved it so much.
They also have a really sick espresso machine — it’s custom made with their brand name, etc. I loved it AND I loved their cups. It’s trivial, I know, but their cups are probably my favorite ones ever.

4. Cha Cha Matcha
Address: Time Out Market, Dumbo, Brooklyn
This is the ONLY Cha Cha Matcha that I like. There’s two (or three) over in Manhattan I believe, but when I saw they put one in the Time Out Market, I had to go try it. I want to say it’s one of the only ones that offers coffee as well, the others purely focus on matcha.
I LOVE their seasonal drinks and I typically get an iced latte and they always do a great job. Highly recommend if you’re over in the area.

5. La Grande Boucherie
Address: 145 W 53rd ST
I went to eat brunch here one day and we ended up getting cappuccinos and just enjoying the whole vibe and ambiance of the place. They made SUCH good coffee, so if you’re in the area I recommend stopping in here — but also, the food was really good too.

‘
6. Seven Grams Caffe
Address: 76 Madison Ave (Several other locations too)
I visited Seven Grams on one of my very first trips to NYC and I loved it. The cups, the atmosphere, the coffee — chefs kiss. If you’re in the area, I recommend visiting. It also seemed like a great place to work for a day — so if you’re a remote worker, this could be an option!

7. Sarabeth’s
Address: Chelsea Market (towards the back by the exit)
Sarabeth’s doesn’t have a lot to choose from and isn’t fancy by any means, but I loved their pastries, bread and. their hot chocolate is to die for! If you’re in NYC during winter, pop in and get you one and then take a walk on the High Line.

8. The Elk
Address: 128 Charles St.
One day I was wandering through the West Village and I stumbled upon the Elk and I’m glad I did. Their coffee is so good and they also have outdoor seating where you can just hang out/enjoy. It’s nestled on a little side street, but if you’re in the area I recommended popping in.

9. Urban Backyard
Address: 180 Mulberry Street
When I tell you I LOVE Urban Backyard, I love it. It’s one of my favorite little places. I’ve had their tea, coffee, etc. It’s just the cutest little place and especially cute when it’s decorated for Christmas. If you’re
Things I loved:
- Floral Latte
- Hot Chocolate
- Cold Brew
- ANY of their teas!

10. Amano Cafe
Address: 172 West 4th St
I recently discovered the amano cafe and I’m so glad I did. It’s nestled in the West Village and I could’ve sat there forever. They’re known for their drink, “Rocket Fuel” so that’s what I ordered. I’ll be honest, I don’t know what’s in it really, but it’s fantastic. 10/10. I truly loved it.
If you’re in the West Village, definitely give this coffee shop a visit.

Well there you have it — my tried and true top 10 coffee shops in NYC (in no particular order). I genuinely have tried so many and these land among my favorite. If you end up checking them out, let me know what you think, I’m always curious if other people like them as well.
